Data services
Data migration projects come in all shapes and sizes. We know that all data migration projects are both technical and people projects, and we spend an equal amount of time on both elements. There’s more about the people part of the project on the strategy page, but here we discuss the technical aspect.
Reconciliation
We validate that everything has landed correctly from a technical viewpoint. Record counts, field-level checks, and audit trails are used to compare source and target data, giving you confidence that nothing was lost, changed, or duplicated in the process. We also manage the business reconciliation approach to ensure you have a structured plan for reconciliating the data yourselves, with your SME’s fully briefed on the “what, when and how” they should carry out reconciliations.
Cutover
The final step is switching fully to the new system. We will manage the planning of DM Cutover tasks and coordinate with you to ensure these tasks sit correctly in your overall cutover plan, in order to minimise issues or disruption during the cutover period. With all tasks and checks complete and users supported, the cutover marks a clean handover and the start of real business benefits.
Hypercare
In the days and weeks after go-live, we offer hands-on support. We investigate any issues raised swiftly to determine if they are data related, work to resolve any issues quickly, monitor any data updates, and provide reassurance to users, helping them feel confident with the new system from day one.

Data migration
Data migration projects come in all shapes and sizes. At binary10, we specialise in data migration for complex organisations - Whether it’s working with multi-national retailers to launch a new ERP system, migrating data from one SaaS product to another, an ageing legacy system to implementing a new cloud-based one, or merging data from disparate sources across a university, we approach every project with the same process. Every data migration project is different, but one thing stays the same: it's never just about the data.
Successful migrations depend just as much on people as on technology!
We take a strategy-first approach to a data migration. It’s much more than just extract, transform and load (ETL) - it’s about understanding the impact on the organisation, resource planning and ensuring your data is in the best shape possible before migration. This means your projects have better outcomes, accurate timelines and fewer mistakes - something every Project Manager is looking for.
This way, we help you:
→ Avoid costly delays
→ Improve data accuracy
→ Deliver projects on time
→ Reduce post-migration issues
Data migration process.
The six-step process, shown below, outlines how we tackle all data migration projects. While scale and complexity can vary, we recognise that all projects share many commonalities. Our focus is on helping you through the migration process, ensuring that it runs as smoothly as possible.
Strategy
Strategy: Every successful migration starts with a clear strategy. We define objectives, data scope, assess data sourcing & quality, and identify key risks early on. This foundation, based on the binary10 methodology, ensures the project aligns with your organisation’s goals and sets the stage for a smooth migration journey.
Planning
We turn strategy into action with detailed planning. This includes scoping, timelines, resources, and stakeholder alignment, ensuring the DM Plan dovetails with overall programme milestones. A solid plan keeps the project on track, ensures accountability, and prepares teams for every stage of the migration.
